epiphones and gibsons

I dont have one but a friend has a gibson les paul which he raves about. I wasnt to impressed when i plaed it though, it was nice just i expected more.

i happen to have a really cheesy epiphone les paul, it was probably like 100 bucks with a little amp maybe like 150, its really cheesy, its actually a epiphone "Special Model" by Gibson, so i dunno what to say, the real les pauls are pretty nice its just that mine really realy sucks

I've put in Dunlop straplocks, and active EMGs (ZWs)... and next summer, schaller locking tuners, d- tuner on the bass e, tone pros bridge, new speed knobs.... new nut....

so basically I'm creating a beast....

I prefer the SG's neck over the Les pauls because of it's flatter profile.

I've got an Epiphone SG, love it, want to get the full-size scratch plate for it though. The sustain through my Marshal CD25 is pretty neat, I can keep a note going forever almost!

I don't know why people are all..... EPIPHONE IS **** COMPARED TO GIBSON. First of all Epiphone is a company of Gibson and you know epiphones are Brilliantly made because of that. Second of all I do have a gibson Les Paul...

Well Gibson uses more expensive woods which give a more resonant sound to the guitar, and better pickups. The finishes on Gibsons are also much nicer than Epiphones.

The only reason Gibson and PRS are so expensive is the woods they use, and the finish they give the body.
