Computer Microphone?

Hey i'm looking for a decent microphone that i can hook up to my computer easily that will allow me to record things to my computer. I'm looking for something with decent sound recording abilities. Anyone have any suggestions? i dont know where to start looking...

A good overall affordable mic would be the Shure SM 58. It's about a hundread bucks and it sounds good for the money (I learned all about mics the other day in class)

i'm looking more along the lines of like just a computer mic that i can plug into my mic slot on the side of my laptop, that type of thing

Along with dude's question, what exactly do you mean by "on the side" of your laptop? Is that a USB port or a input plug?

If it's just a 1/8th inch jack, just get a 1/4 inch to 1/8th extension piece.

ah ok yea thats what i've done, i'm all set now, that adapter worked well, recording is alright i guess, now i need to work on my voice
