Can someone recommend some effects pedals(single) that they think are great, i wanna grab a few for gifts(ok ok, its for myself!) i'm going to try em all i just want some opinions.. and any brand names to stay away from??

Especially their DS-1 distortion pedal.

A few pedals that sound good{and are somewhat reliable}

Echoflanger
Small Clone
Electro Harmonix Big Muff Fuzz Box
Pro Co Rat Distortion

...all of these pedals work and sound great IMO. But beware, some of them get $$$.

I think the best pedal for you to get is a Boss V-Wah pedal,
for distortion get a Marshall JackHammer, Guv'nor or bluesbreaker2, thats the best i've used
