A good and experienced friend of mine recomended buying a Monster Cable P-500 series cable to hook my head into my speaker cab. He said it improved the sound of his half stack a lot, and would most likely do the same since we both have the same cab with different heads.
So I go to a local shop, and the guy says they don't carry monster cables- too much hype. They're just as good as any speaker cable or guitar cable you can buy. He basically gave me a 10 minute lecture on his experience with them.
Then I went to another shop about 5 minutes away, and bought a 3 Foot Monster 'P-500' Speaker Cable. I think I'll bring in my amp and show that other guy how much of a difference it makes in the sound.
The lows are WAY punchier than ever before, especially on power chords and palm muting, etc. The mid-range sounds much clearer and the highs aren't ear piercing at all.
Sorry to have rambled on and on, but if you are willing to spend the 20 bucks on a new speaker cable, I am HIGHLY recomending Monster Cable P-500's. I don't get that deep muddy type sound I was having trouble with anymore.. It's AWESOME!!
