The problem im having is that I would like to buy some form of gigbag/case for my guitar and bass, but funds dont allow two separate ones. Does anyone have any ideas about something universal, and whether a bag is better or a hard case. Thanks.

A hard case is definitely better, but they are usually more expensive.

Also, if you want to use the same case for your guitar and your bass individually, you should get a bass case. The guitar will still fit in the bass case with some extra headroom ;)

Make sure if you get a soft case that it is padded, though.

The main thing that puts my off about a hard case though is that I cant sling it over my shoulders, so when Im carrying the amp to school as well, the bus and carrying around etc can be hard. If i did get a bass gig bag, could the guitar fit in there too?

Oh yeah it will :) Like Ibanez said the only difference on a bass gig bag is the extended neck, so it should be compatable with a guitar as well

Good luck!

Yeah for a while I was using Brian's guitar as a backup for my Ibanez, and he didn't have a case, so I stole Anders' (bass player) gig bag.

I don't think Anders realized it, so he went and bought another one :haha:

The only bad part about a gig bag is the guitar might go out of tune if the tuners move around. So again, make sure it's very padded. Billy has a Mars Music gig bag that he lent me and it's got some really thick padding. Works real well.
