Going off to college this fall, can't bring my giant halfstack with me.
My first plan is:
1. Sell my halfstack. $1300 as a package.
-Peavey 5150 120W Head. LP: $1349.99 (Discontinued- 6505 is the reissue)
-Carvin Steve Vai Legacy 4x12 Speaker Cabinet. LP: $995.00
-Monster P500 Speaker Cable for good measure. LP: $24.99
Then, buy a 2x12 combo TUBE amp for my apartment. Any reccomendations?

Dave man, that reeeeeeeeallly sucks ***.
I would cry if I had to sell my amp and get a smaller one=(.
you could always have both? and time when all your neighbors go to work and play it then hehe.

Well.. the thing is I need to sell my amp to have the money for the new one. So I can't have both..
The 5150 has been a great head for the music I've played through high school.. great tone and loud as hell for shows, but I'm probably not gonna be doing much more of that. I need a more condensed amp that has the tone and versatility that I need, instead of a gain monster ;)

well most of the time they measure the units in watts ish. So more than likly it is too haha.
Marshalls are by far the best starter amps. They even have a sweet sound. and when you get better all you have to do is buy a bigger wattage. and it's still sick. ahha.
